In the movie, of the same name,Auric Goldfinger aimed at making the whole U.S. gold depository at Fort Knox radioactive.This would increase the value of his own holdings approximately ten times.However in the real world, the U.S. dollar value of gold has increased from 30 dollars an once to approximately 850 dollars an once. This is a multiplication in monetary value of approximatly 33 times ! Even though the spending power of the dollar has decreased, gold will still beat many investments hands down and keep pace with inflation.
